Exhaust for 550 bucks????

Pricing is always subjective to location.
I just had 2.25" from the header back using my flanges and muffler, had to get a new flowmaster cat cause mine was busted, and it was $380 total parts and labor. If I had needed other parts or a muffler, easily $500.
If you don't like the prices, buy the parts and do it yourself, but stop whining about it and dropping f-bombs.

f-bomb, my bad...
Anyways, I thought that if you could get a Downey kit for 389 with a cat that the locals would price theirs cheaper. My town is a small one, kind of far away from major cities, so most car repair here is akin to a robbery. I could actually save money buying LCE stuff!!! LoL

Dang. $500 is alot. If i went to my shop its $50 for a new cat, around $100 or something for the Flowmaster and $90 for the piping. With labor it ends near around $300-$350. Best suggestion make very good friends with the shop lol, i did that and i can get all the work done for $150

I had my runner done a while back for 165 for a magnaflow (don't remember the model) and 2.25" pipe from behind the cat out. Then my cat was stolen and it was 150 for an aftermarket hi-flow cat, 2.25" in/out. So 315 total there.

You forgot or find out what others are paying and try to bargain with them, or go somewhere else in your list.
And when all else fails, a little bitching and moaning go a long way to at least make you feel better.

I agree with Wabbit. Prices up here are much more on custom exhaust work. I paid 250 bucks for a catback (I supplied the cat and glasspack), seems to be the norm..

I decided to pickup an LC exhaust system, and since I have spent some coin there in the past I got a decent discount, making it a better price than anything local. I looked into piecemealing my own exhaust with stuff from around here & online, and kept coming up around 300-350 with a cat, and I would still need to do quite a bit of welding with my friends torch. Yeay torch welding!!!
Anyways, with this LC kit there is a lot less welding, it was designed to work with the header I have vs going with the Downey exhaust (2.25 vs 2.5) and I can do it myself easier...
