One of my best friends and ex roommate raced Honda Civics in Lower MI and around the country really.
His reaction, was that, Yes it would be possible, but No, it wouldnt be any faster because the added weight of batteries and electrical systems would offset any performance gains made. (as plainly stated above by other members)
He said cheap power is usually found in knowledge of your motor and proper tuning. Create flow and tune properly.
He also suggested a junkyard turbo off a Saab or a Volvo.
But as everyone here has stated, the real thing, a supercharger or a turbo, would be the answer for true power gains that have been proven reliable over time. My 2 cents.

A small gasoline powered 2 stroke leaf blower could generate sufficient airflow to give an increase in power at a minimal weight gain and with no parasitic loss at all...
But I still wouldn't try it.

Look at their forum, in the dyno section, the graphs... are not real.
Want to know why? torque/hp are supposed to meet at 5252 RPM.... in their dyno's, they do not, i dont beleive a word on that site....
