You can't see spending $60 to fix your ebrake, but you'll spend HOW much on an IFS lift? Im missing the logic here.

And why would you have to bump start your truck? Why not fix the starter? Are you opposed to maintinence on your truck?!!

like i stated before i didnt want to spend 60 bucks at the dealer either so i looked around and found this one shipped for 37 bucks (rockauto.com) and its in a 4x4 xtra cab. just installed it over the weekend. do a search at rockauto by part #DORMAN Part # C138653

Thanks for the part # Azusacanyonbogger

I am waiting on a few other people for quotes ( 1 local) to see if buying over the border is going to save me any money.

Also that part decription only says "front cable" nothing about toyota or ex cab.. did it say that when you orderd it?

No kidding! i posted it a crapload of times, its not like this is a 20 page thread!! anyway i just want to show a resource to a pretty good deal for a hard to find aftermarket item. and it seems to be working fine so far!

to Jay yep it said the same thing i just ordered it last week. and it is now installed in my truck and works great. believe me its the correct part as its now in use on my truck.

yes i would go oem too rockauto is great but that cable is designed for 4cyl extra cab i actually cant find a single source for a 91 extra cab v6 4x4 parking brake cable. I bought the cable from rockauto and broke it within 2 months go oem on this one guys or you'll be wasting your money. To my dismay the local yota dealer wants 86 bucks + tax expensive cable but if you brake a couple of rockautos you kick yourself i know i am after i get a dealer cable ill let you guys know hows its holding up i cant be the only one that broke that dormann C138653 from rockauto

Mine is still 100%, use it everyday. Perhaps yours was rubbing against somthing and it frayed the cable?

I havent yanked it out yet but i know it busted right at the end again maybe it was rubbing was thinking about putting a little shrink tube on the end for extra protection this is the oem toyota part number 46410-35560 from 1sttoyotaparts.com maybe this will help some people out 52.60 + 8.95 shipping not to much more than rockautos 36.00 but to each his own there is a slurry of posts about this damn ebrake maybe we need a good right up hint hint nudge nudge wink wink say no more.

my rockauto still works too. 1 year so far.. and that cable works absolutely fine on my v6 4x4 xtra cab sr5... and yes the same part # dormann C138653 ..... i would say also that it might be installer error. or it was rubbing on something...

well the ebrake cable isnt all that hard to change u can unbolt the handle the hardest proble i found is the litle wheel at the fire wall on the inside of the cab and to my knowlage with the 6 inch lift there should be enough adjustment in the cable

I've got a project 89 4x4 Xtracab that needs the same treatment. What was the total cost for the ebrake, including shipping, taxes etc...?

I'm trying to decide whether to go OEM or aftermarket.

TIA,
