Dash swap for 1988 pickup

1984/88 toyota dash removal
I take these items out quite often. I have found that it is a lot easier to remove the right vent first. You simply use a small screwdriver and gently pry the inside vent to one side and pop it out. Don't loose the small pieces. This allows the outside of the vent to flex much better. I use a broad flat item much like a putty knife to pry up the top and bottom of the vent housing to release the clips. Always start with the bottom of the vent first and finish with the top. Keep some pressure on the vent to the outside as you move to each subsequent clip to make sure the do not reset themselves. The vent will then come out. Work it out evenly if possible, otherwise it can become bound up in the blasted hole. Have fun. LOL
