in dash brake light

in dash brake light
Well when i was changing my brake pads i discovered my driverside caliper was shot. i replaced it and blead the brakes good and all that, but my brake light in the dash is still on and i cannot figure out how to get it to go off. the brakes work great i have never had better breaks so i have no clue.

Do you think the brake light is directly related to the front brakes? Does your truck have cruise control? If so, does it work? If not, unplug the "dummy light" on top of the brake resevoir cap. Mine went bad, and the light stayed on.

its a 93 pickup 4wd, i would normally look in the trouble shooting guide in the repair manual but i loaned it out and dont have it to reffer to.

Mine done the same thing. I filled the reservoir up and it didn't go out. I cleared the code. I pulled the positive and negative terminals off and touched them together. It cleared out and all is good.

Yes, but you have to ground the positive side. I have tried to just disconnect the battery but, that did nothing. If you touch them it completely grounds the CPU and system. I know you have heard this before-just trust me. It will clear all codes. Only the hard codes will remain.

i pulled off both of them at first and touched them togather and it didnt do anything, so i pulled off the positive and touched it to the negative, reconnected the positive and pulled off the negative and touched it to the positive and i think that did it.
