Cold start problem...one tow already this winter

Well after the holidays, and being back at work, no dice thook. I had the cold start time switch jumped and still no check engine light; it cranks but did not turn over. After pushing it inside...5 mins...light on and away I went.
I'm really starting to think it's wiring on top of the fuel pump. That's an uneducated guess though.
Any more thoughts out there?

The "no CEL" condition is an issue with the ECU not getting a signal for ignition or it's malfunctioning. The time switch (and the fuel pump wiring)will have nothing to do with that. (Sorry, apparently I missed this CEL detail in your first post). I'm not sure why the cold would have an effect on it. If it's anything like some computerized gadgets, they don't work well in extreme cold. I just can't imagine that being the case with your vehicle, though. I don't know.
I do know that recently I've dealt with my own "no CEL" condition and it was my ECU having corroded from moisture. All you can do at this point is start tracking down why you're having this intermittent problem.....somewhere between the battery and the ECU or the ECU itself. Is it possible between the freezing and thawing of your vehicle that there would be some condensation affecting the wiring and/or electronics? I would start by inspecting the ECU, the ignition switch, EFI main relay, and EFI fuse. You need to test at the point you're experiencing the no CEL condition. Sounds like a low voltage/signal problem.

I suspected wiring for the fuel pump thats on top of the tank because it's the most exposed to the elements, so suspected them the likliest culprit to have condensation.
Is there a link for wiring schematics or will the back of my Hanes show it(a friend at work can understand it not me)?
I was at the dealership yesterday to pick up a new thermostat and relayed the trouble to the guy there. He immediately thought the cold start injector itself; but I neglected to press why the CEL would not operate until truck being inside for ten minutes. Injector's $120, but I'd like to hunt around a little more just in case that's not it.
