The picture is 100% correct, the CV joint is closest to the transfer case. Good news you got it back together

Possibly happy ending. I won't consider it a happy engine until the truck is started and I'm able to drive away. 3 times now have I thought I finished a project and found out after I put everything together that I either broke something else in the process or installed something incorrectly.

I know. It's not like I'm depressed about it, but I've just learned not to get my hopes up until it's on the road and doing a test drive.

Everything is back together now. Transmission is up, shifters are in, the slave cylinder is in place, drive shafts are all bolted up...and now when I go to try and put the truck into a gear it won't. When the engine is off I can freely move through the different gears with no clutch pedal, but once the truck has been started the clutch doesn't want to let me change gears.

I checked my chilton manual for any sort of clutch adjustment procedures and all I could find were clutch pedal adjustment.

What else can I look into to try and remedy this? I didn't mess with any brake/clutch fluid, and I highly doubt the system got air in it, but could the slave cylinder need bled?

-edit-
so here's what we know:

the truck will start while in gear when pushing the clutch pedal down. You can go out of gear (really hard) but cannot go back into a gear.

With the truck still in 3rd and the engine off, if you try and start it in gear the truck will lurch forward.

I started the truck with the pedal all the way down in 3rd gear and very very slowly let it up to see where it would want to stall and even with the slightest budge of letting the pedal out it wanted to stall.

We bled the fluid system and it did nothing for it. Now I'm looking for a way to adjust the clutch pedal/master cylinder.

We got it figured out. We adjusted the clutch/master cylinder and it disengages properly now.

Now I have other issues, where are detailed here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116.../#post51526268

Thanks for all of the help and feedback. It's greatly appreciated. Now for some sleep.

I'm now dealing with what I fear may be an even worse issue. It won't idle high enough to not stall, and there's so many things that can affect that I don't know where to begin. At least with the clutch I was able to take it one step at a time and I knew where the problems are/were.

I can get pics (high resolution pics) of the engine, intake, and vacuum hoses so you can get a feel for what may be going on. But I'll post everything here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...rnator-218221/ to keep yotatech more organized.
