Clutch issue

I've owned multiple Toyota pickups, from 86-95, and I am very familiar with them. However, I have not encountered this problem until this weekend. My 16 year old son drives my 93 yota 2wd 5 spd, and this weekend I went for a drive with him. I was driving, and when you release the clutch pedal, it revs as though it's still depressed. In other words, with the pedal released it sounds like the clutch is still disengaged. I'm not sure if i'm over thinking this, and it's a simple clutch replacement, or something else someone else may have encountered. Any info is appreciated.
Thanks.

Pressure plate could be shot or friction disc is really slipping/glazed. Just my $0.02

It feels like the clutch doesn't fully engage when you come off the pedal, so slipping or glazing wasn't really a concern. I was however thinking that maybe the pressure plate fingers were not allowing the clutch to engage or possibly the throw out bearing was not returning and possibly binding. Then I started thinking I may need to look into the hydraulic system. Thanks for the input! Definitely going to consider all avenues.

Red face

How old are the clutch Hydraulics ??

Then if the fluid has never been changed it can cause a slow release .

is the clutch is normal while driving or does it slip all the time ?

my experience with failing clutch hydraulics has been to make disengagement difficult, rather than slippage. hydraulic issue should manifest itself as grinding.

I bought the truck last year, so i'm not sure about the age of hydraulic fluid or components. Truck has 190k.

Im just gonna drop the trans next weekend, and replace the clutch and all the components, and replace the hydraulic fluid. Components are cheap enough, and it's only a few hours of my time for the added piece of mind.
