MC clutch... it says they are out of stock?

I've had my Marlin 1200# fiber for about a year now with no complaints! There was only once now that it has slipped. It was in 4hi with 32inch studded snows, on a steep uphill turn, from a dead stop on dry pavement! (it was snowy but there was so much salt on that corner that the road was dry there) Other than that one time it has worked great for DD and mild off-roading.

swimmer u might want to call mc and see what they have in stock. u might be waiting a while. I was checking the website daily for about a month for either the hd 1200 or 1600. Never came in stock so I finally called and a rep said it would probably be about 2 weeks for the 1600. I could not wait 2 weeks to order a clutch that would get to Va in 2 weeks. Whole month of waiting to get my rebuilt 22re in. Ordered Wab Fab stock clutch, came in 2 weeks and the kit was beautiful. I checked back on mc's site when I ordered Wab Fab's kit and still not in stock well after the 2 weeks the rep said. This was all a couple weeks ago

This thread is good because I was thinking about replacing my clutch. I've always head that centerforce and Marlin Crawler clutches were the best out there and to stay away from Autozone clutches.

I've used stock and ceramic. I much prefer stock clutch, daily driver or trail rig as a properly setup trail rig you don't use the clutch much anyway.

in my 87 build i used a oreileys clutch, cheap sacs clutch kit for 100$ and i wheeled the hell out of it and it never gave me a problem, i only wheeled for 6 months and drove it for 6 months but in those 6 months i beat the hell out of that truck, the clutch ive got going in my 82 will most likely be a mc just due to all of the good reviews ive heard but its all someone elses opinion, do you need it? if the stock clutch hasnt givein you any problems in 300k, why upgrade unless you plan on going to even larger tires when you SAS, i plan on running 36s here in the future theirfor i plan on upgradeing my clutch, as the case with my 87 i was only on 31s, thats prob the reason i never had any problems.

i guess i am the only one running a luk pro gold?! i put that thing in probably 30k ago and man it is like a race car clutch it is super stiff but never once had 1 problem with it and i abuse the HELL out of it!!!! and my girl friend can still drive it so it is not impossible to drive on road and i have 33's and a grizzly locker and will light them both up on the asphalt no problem!

This seemed to be the clutch of choice back when I was into drag racing. My bro-in-law actually had one on his 13 second B2300 daily driver! He really seemed to like it. I wouldn't mind something that was a little bit easier with more grab. I may check this out for mine.

Got off the phone with Marlin Crawler, they recommend the 1200lb non-ceramic clutch. They said for any truck that is driven on the street you should avoid the ceramic clutch because they are too grabby and very chattery.

Looks like the 1200lb non-ceramic it is!!

We're you able to order one. Last I checked they were out of stock. I signed up for an email when they are available again and havnt recieved one. Do you know something I don't. I hope so I want that clutch.

i like my 1200 lb MC clutch. its grippy, and soft. it was a bit touchy when i first got it on, but its broken in now and its awesome.

sweet advice on here... looks like I know which clutch to look for next.... mine won't die tho, (not that I'm complaining); got 165k on my taco, towed WAAAY too much weight accross country, SC'd, the whole nine and still goin' strong... gotta love it.

Noticed a few people expressing concern over out of stock items from Marlin. I placed an order with them last week and one item was out of stock...they shipped the entire order (backordered item included) yesterday and it still says out of stock on their website. As long as an item is on backorder it will be marked as out of stock.

If you're worried about it, call them for an ETA. Great customer service.

You got all the info you need right there. I use the heck out of my MC 1200 lb fiber clutch and still feels brand new after ~3 or so years!

Yup I guess I spoke a little too soon. Looked at my inbox and MC sent an email this evening saying clutches are back in stock. Now the question is to buy a slave cylinder or not while I'm at it.
