Was it "clunk"ing before the wheel bearing refresh?
Does the front end feel loose at all when you hit bumps? Mine had been making a little noise and feeling a bit loose for awhile, but I did not realize that it might be the LBJ's until Mudhippy's contribution to the thread I linked. All of a sudden I was afraid to drive the stupid thing, fearing that a balljoint might come apart on me (had that happen once, and that was more than enough for me).
I am not sure if this is the prescribed way to check them, but I just inserted a long prybar between the lower control arm and the steering knuckle to test the LBJ. I lifted up, the steering knuckle went up in relation to the control arm, and I placed an order for some replacements.

I've had the exact same symptoms in my truck for a while. I've been thinking it's my control arm bushings. The edges are cracked badly so I'm sure they're shot. I haven't replaced lower ball joints, but I've replaced one upper and I'm about to replace the other upper. So, I can't rule out lower ball joints for you, but mine seem to be fine.
