Cleaner fuel injectors = lower fuel economy...?
I recently bought my '91 4Runner with a 22RE. In an effort to gain a few MPG, I cleaned the fuel injectors, and ran seafoam through some of the vacuum hoses. Following the seafoam, my economy went up to about 18 MPG, then I developed a leak from one of the o-rings around the injectors, which brought me down to 16 MPG. I re-replaced the o-rings on the fuel injectors, and now I'm down to about 10-12 MPG. Does anyone have any ideas on where I could've gone wrong with my reassembly to cause this?
Also, I have issues starting, but only from about 1-4 hours after I turn it off. If I go to turn it on within the hour of turning it off, it spins right up, or if it's been >~4 hrs then it will also start right up, but in that little time frame, it won't start up unless I force feed it some fuel. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
