Charging gauge running on the high side

The charging gauge on my '92 is running near the high end of the "normal" range if not right on the edge of high sometimes. Is this something to worry about? I'm not sure how accurate the gauge is. I haven't tried checking against a volt meter yet. I haven't noticed any battery issues like battery acid leaking out the vents like I've seen with overcharged batteries.

I would check the voltage at the battery with the engine running. It should be between 13.5 and 14.5 volts. I had my 86 gauge start reading high. The voltage from the alternate was over 16 VDC. The battery wasn't showing any signs of distress...yet. Had to replace the alternator. It's the easiest way to rule out the charging system.

It's on the high side even at all engine speeds. I guess it's volt meter time.
