not that this matters, but i thougt id point out that the stroke of the 3vzfe,3vze, and 5vzfe is the same, its the bore that is increased with the 5vzfe(92mm) to get the .4 liters. i think someone tried the dohc head swap, and had problems with getting a timing belt the right length. i would think that you could swap over the entire 3vzfe, just need to fab custom mounts, people do it all the time with 1uzfe and chevy swaps, shouldnt be that big of a deal. on the passenger side of the 3vzfe, there will be mounting bosses for the carrier bearing for the passenger side driveshaft(when in a camry) that could probably be used, again with a custom mount. btw, if the 20 other people who are interested in the motor dont buy it, id be interested to.

I was only thinking this swap would make sense to someone like me whose truck is on the highway 90% of the time, and is easier because the transmission bolts right up. NO, the inline six doesn't bolt right up to the V6 tranny, only a cu$tom bellhousing can accomplish that. I was looking for a possible cheap swap, because at the time there was almost no hope of making the 3VZE as powerful as a stock 5VZFE. Now with CPE testing a MAF conversion, Weazy engineering some cams, and other tuning innovations, the future of the 'ol 3.slow is looking a lot better! Thanks guys!
The questions about automatics got me thinking earlier if it's possible to swap in a 5mge into an auto-equipped truck. Does the 82-86 Supra use the same automatic as the 4 cylinder trucks? Is it possible to swap the bellhousing from the Supra automatic to the truck (4 cylinder) automatic? Such a vehicle would be a great winter driver for my wife . The 4 cylinder automatic 4x4 just doesn't seem to have enough power.
Just trying to develop more engine swap options (while keeping it all Toyota!).
