A/C Issues
Hello tried looking for a thread about this issue but could not find one. If I missed it please point me in the right direction!
Anyway my A/C compressor had a slight knocking for the longest time but it still blew cold so I ignored it (probably not a good idea lol). Then one day the clutch wouldn't engage on the compressor at all and the light on the dash was off so I changed the A/C fuse behind the glove box and the light turned back on but the clutch on the compressor still would not engage and the fuse blew a few seconds later. I'm stil pretty new to this truck but would prefer to learn to fix things myself instead of paying someone else, so any help is appreciated!!

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully it's just a failed clutch (bearing) but it could be the compressor itself. Does the belt still turn freely? If it does, check and see if you can turn the compressor by turning either the hub by hand or with a socket on the center bolt. If it turns, you may just have a burned and shorted clutch coil. If you cant turn it, you have more work to do.
It would help if you gave more info. Year and model. Still R-12 or converted to R134A?

I will give the compressor a spin when I get home.
It is a 1992 4x4 Pickup with the 3vze and has been converted to R134A.
