broken torsion bar mount
ok today i did the first serieous wheelin in my 86 and i hit a rut from the side and bottomed out my suspenshion then i heard a huge bang and the front right of my truck was bottemd out. first thing i thought was that i broke a tortion bar but i took a quick peek under the truck to find out that i i riped the mount on the frame whear the tortion bar mounts to. i dont know if im explaining this clearly but i need a new bracket that my tortion bar mounts to. has anyone on here done the same and what did u do ill try to post pics when i get a chance. thanks, josh

We'll have to see some pics, but i'm sure you did some damage to the frame itself. You can get a new mount from toyota, then you will have to fix any damage to the frame, then weld the new mount on. Post some pics if you can, so we can see the extent of the damage.

I've heard of the t-bar mounts breaking before, but like said mostly trucks that are going fast out in the desert.
There is someone on dezertrangers.com selling some t-bar mounts i think off his toyota pick up. I would look there

pretty shure thats not how it should be lol the tortion bar should be in that cradel there, i must have broke off whatever was holding it in place. i orderd it today at work so it will be here tomarow but idk if it was the right part becuase it was a little less than 10 bucks for the bracket/mount that welds to the frame.

I think this may be due to rust, especially if you were at slow speeds. You must of nudged it good and that broke a cracked or rusted mount. Check the other side too! I bet that will soon follow if you weren't beating it.

If the bolt is gone, you will need the bolt and t-bar nut, but also the upper and lower d-shaped pieces that go between the mount and the bolt head, and then the t-bar frame mount and the nut. I'm not sure what they're called, but they aren't held in there so if the bolt is gone, chances are they are too.
