Breather

Thinking of changing this out to a breather port like the picture below and removing this line. Has anyone done this with good results.

I find Lil bits of oil around the port from time to time and I worry it may get pulled up the intake one day.

my pcv on the passenger side is new so I don’t believe there to be an issue.

Can someone explain to me what this hose is doing
I’m a little lost on this end.
