body lift shifter fix????
got a 92 runner with a 3" body lift looking to see if anyone has come up with a fix for the automatic heater(the hot air that comes through the hole) mine is not cut out or anything but with the stock boot in it has to much pressure against it when in 2nd,4th,R so as soon as you let off the gas it pops out of gear so i had to just take it out then i get a bunch of really hot air blowing in any help????

I had my gearshifters extended when I put my body lift on which helps - if they're extended in the right place. However, when I extended them and put the lft on, I didn't realize it but the shifter was hitting on the shift plate.
I dealt with this for 9 years or so until the transmission went out on me. I took it to a shop to install the transmission for me, and the guy said he noticed the new one wasn't staying engaged in 2 or 4th (the same problem I had for years) so he ground the shift plate down in those gears and voila. It shifts great and stays in 2nd and 4th without me holding it in.
All of my boots are in the stock positions.

I had the same problem. The shifter seat is probably destroyed. Marlin Crawler has replacements. This will help the shifter from popping out of gear but you will have to try to relocate the shifter boot back a little bit.
