Good Story man, Although I would have after the 3rd stall backing out & made the kid get out. However I can easily picture being so horrified at the site of what was happening that out of sheer horror you stood there mortified...and before you knew it he was already stalling it again pulling in....

Thank you for all the time you took to make this thread, it MUST have been almost as much time as the engine!

Nice work again my friend

well bleeder you have me sold. as soon as i have the extra funds i'll be adding some power to the top of that 22r.. let it flow out a header.

these are great little trucks. 22r's and re's are great motors and with a little more power out of them well thats all the power you need under the hood of these little trucks.

like said already.. but again thanks for this build it's helped me already by replacing that wore out smog pump with a bracket like yours off a 22re and will be the reasion i do a cam swap as well. now go out and enjoy that truck....

Damn BLEEDER you stole my avatar idea lol so guess we are even right , I have ran into a hick up but it should be fixed this coming week maybe just maybe Saturday the injectors I sent to Witch Hunter are the wrong ones for this new head so I have to send a set to him again that are for a more common 22 re and get them redone F****ng A only me , sucks I had to tear off the top of the intake and fuel rail because the injector plugs did not fit I need a set of them or a set of injectors sent out to Witch Hunter.

Geez that sucks olharlery. Yeah I was reading your thread about selling the injectors...

lol about the avatar pic sorry...

I think one of the GREATEST things about having the truck done, is that every night I've been able to drive through town and see the gf during or after work I actually just got back home, lol. Life is good; I can take my baby for a ride in my baby

hahaha i love my truck far more then my gf does. i guess it's just the way this carb functions but it kinda jerks off the line and does this lil funny think when you left of the gas and push it again.. not really jumps.. just acts like a dead spot but it's not.

one day... just maybe... it'll be EFI

well she's love's a little timing

I locked the dizzy down today at about 8 degree base, as apposed to the stock 5 it was at, and mid-throttle really opened up! I was impressed by just 3 degrees! but I figured it was a little retarded anyway, cause I could actually hear it poping out of the exhaust between 2 and 3 thousand RPMS; now's she's a steady rumble through the whole range

Now I just need to readjust the vlaves this weekend, and then she'll be good to go!

Got 230 miles on it already; it wont be long before the 500 mile oil change

Hey Bleeder....just gotta say, I'm extremely impressed. Maybe I'll hit ou up for some play by play advice when i start doing mine (just a head gasket, but i never did anything other than change the radiator and thermostat before and body work and oil changes and a K&N air intake.... never disassembled before). sounds like you've covered it all.

I was going through the thread last night and i saw the part about undercoating the inside of your hood.........is there going to be a heat issue?? Should you cover that undercoating in some bar-b-q paint or engine enamel???

on our 884runner someone before us painted the inside of the hood and it is now all flaked off. probably a combo of bad prep / wrong paint / black hood sizzling it from one side and the engine from the other. i know your truck is whiteand i saw how you cleaned it up, so you've got alot in your favor.......but ow much heat is still under that hood...is the undercoatng going to be able to take it?

just a thought.....not trying to be a downer, but i would hate for it to turn to goo and drip on that engine.

So far it seems to be holding up really good, although it actually dried to be a little stiffer than I would have liked, considering it IS rubberized undercoating I'm fairly sure that if I ever get cought in a good hail storm though, it'll pepper the engine bay with black flakes as it's beat'n off the hood, lmao. But so far so good, even in this god aweful hot weather this time of the year in Florida, and even when the engine sitting at idle with the AC on for prolonged perdiods of time

But it's definately something I'm keeping an eye on, thanks!

Luckily that's all that I've found, cause that cost me all of a $1 gasket, $8 for antifreeze, and I even put some sealant on it so I KNOW it wont leak again, lol
