Couldn't you just keep your 33's on 15's and swap them out w your new 33/35's on 18's if you ever do any crazy wheelin?
Here's a 3rd gen w 17's, sure looks capable to me.

ok so did anybody else cream their pants when they seen the pics of that 3rd gen....i know i sure did LMFAO!!.
yea ya see..that rig doesn't look horrible with bigger rims..idk whats with these guys lol...
of course if i found a set of 20's for CHEAP..and they would have to be the EXACT rims i want..i wouldn't run 33's with em..i'd run 35's or 36's..not enough meat with a 33x12.50r20......

I've got 17's and like them; I wouldn't want to go any bigger though. Just for reference, in BFG A/T's 33's for a 17" rim are about $20 more per tire than for a 16" rim, and about $50-$60 more than for 15" rims. For 37's, a 37x12.50r20 is $200 more per tire than a 37x12.50r17.
As a general rule you will have the largest selection of tire sizes and brands available if you go with 16's, followed by 15's, and then 17's. Beyond that, it's hit or miss and can get very expensive very fast.

from that pic above; I would say the 17's seem to be about max- for tire size in the wells, and just plain aesthetics. Those 20's were horrendous, I can't see the 18's being any better. When I up my tire size, it won't be the wheels at all, just moving up to 265'/15's , still a 30.5 inch diameter tire. I think 16's, for everyday driving/trail work, is the real sweet spot.

lol i know man..and wheels won't be coming for a while since i have lots-o-cash due to my college...and i can't find a job because there is 2000 other college kids looking for jobs just like me..lol
and i will probably end up going with 17's because there seems to be a better tire selection than there is with 18's.

if u plan to whell this truck a good rule of thumb is to never go bigger than half the tire diameter on ur rim size other wise u could pop the bead off and the sidewall of the tire wont flex as much resulting in less traction

Not really since your only option for a skinny 33 is BFG. If you shop around online and find best price and then get discount tire direct to price match. I got my 34's on 17's for the same price that I could have gotten 33's on 15's and got a better tire with the nitto's from my past experience on the rocks with my land cruisers.
Also 16 and 17 wheels you have a better selection of OEM wheels that are take off's and can be real cheap to get.
