Best Magnaflow prices?
Preparing to replace my exhaust ASAP and Cat. Looking for the best prices. I need a straight forward answer and location as to where to buy a new Magnaflow cat.
My local muffler shop qouted me @ $199 for a new magna cat, re-use my existing muffler which is still good and replace and re-design my new pipe for a total of $319+tax.
If I can find a magna cheaper it'll save me some $. Also looking inito using a friend's discount at our local Wetsbay Autoparts store for the magna.
Went directly to Magnaflow's website and honestly, I didn't see exactly what I need. Autopartswarehouse was kinda useless. Everything was for 4cyl. I need one for a 6cyl.

Yep. It's stock pipe. The only portio nthat has ever been replaced, since I bought it, has been from the rear of the cat to the tailpipe.
Got a price from Westbay for a Magnaflow (universal) $116.36 part #91004
May be able to get a friends discount. Either way, better than the $199 the muffler shop wanted to charge me.

you can get a magnaflow cat on ebay for around $60 and the shop should be able to weld it in. I bought a walker cat a few weeks from advance auto cuz they didn't have any magnaflow and I had a shop weld it in for $25 bucks. I think I should add that they also welded in a whole new downpipe and 02 sensor bung for another $100. They bent up the new pipe there that's why it was so cheap.
I was in the same situation as you my muffler and tail pipe were still good.
$319 sounds a little steep to me. Just buy a universal cat from any local auto parts store and have them weld it in.

If you buy it from westbay for $116 I would bet the shop is still going to charge you to weld it in being that I would assume the $199 is for a magnaflow installed.
Look on ebay I bought a magnaflow a few years ago for my 95 3.0 for around $60 shipped. If you don't care what brand it is, like I said I just picked up a walker from advance for $70 a few weeks ago. It works fine

I'm kinda set on getting a Magnaflow now. Westbay is charging is the same as they would straight from the Magnaflow website, $116.
The muffler shop qouted me $140 if I brought in my own cat.
Just to be sure, I'm going down there today and talk to them in person so that there's no confusion and get that quote one more time. If it's still a reasonable price, then I'll go ahead and order the Magnaflow from their website.

Love their prices but, it's kinda difficult to locate or enter in my vehicle information to find what I need.

No, I would rather go with a uni since it's cheaper. The cat I have right now is a bolt-on in the front and welded in the rear. I am having the shop replace most of my pipe anyway so, it makes more sense just to get a uni and have them weld it all.
My pipe is 2.25...which now makes me wonder if I should just go up to 3"?? What size pipe are you running?
My original search for a magnaflow cat was part #91004
I think that was for a 2' openeing though...straight off of Magnaflow's website.
From hottexhaust.com, the part # you tagged (5305) seems to be the right fit with a 2.25 opening. I tried to call them to verify before I order, but the lady who answered the phone was no help. Going to try again today.
I would still like to know if I should stay with 2.25" pipe or go up little bigger.

Stick with 2.25".
I run a 2.25" magnaflow uni cat. Been on for going on 2 years. The only part of my exhaust that isnt rusting
I paid $120 from a local store.
