I'm still getting used to copy/paste topic thingy, but teuf's shifter yea, that's what I did to mine, and his mirror...I had a mod similar to his blue light, but I had a red also, led's, that would light up. Problem was, they were taken from a cheap $1 toy, and vibration set them off to flashing. Too many beers I guess when I stuck those in my dual lamped mirror...everytime I hit a bump, pothole etc on the road, they'd flash. Unbeknownst to me other people could see them too, including the cop that pulled me over. Luckily I avoided trouble, and ripped out the wires then and there in front of said occifer in a good faith gesture.

as awesome as this would be if i still had my 3.0L slow 1993 pickup dlx. i now have a 1995 3.4L 1/2 ton dx t100 good effort though i appreciate it, the toyota parts are 752$ something outrageous like that.

sounds good haha, and no problem, these 3.4L are too small for a truck this size, it struggles with the trailer loaded, but meh, im gonna turn it into a weekend warrior are hack up the frame a little lol

Centre consul with dome light.
4Runner auto consul, had to do some mods, cut bottom off original interior tray to utilize as much space as possible.
Used the back cover of 4runner rear seat for lining interior, used door opening "surround" to cover cut plastic. Installed the rear dome light inside.
So nice to have some handy storage.


4runner mirror with map lights, and passenger sun visor.


Awww bucket seats, man are they comfy. Thinking to salvage some of the rear seat fabric and re-cover worn areas.


Next on list is AC system. Wish me luck

This is a solid box that bolts in, it has a clamp that locks the battery in place. Install required some drilling, hammering and grinding. It is designed for a specific battery... the 78-D series. I have a 78-DLG side terminal battery with 800 cca installed. I used three bolts to attach the new box to old factory box. Now I have no worries about my battery moving around. I am going to have to install a different ww fluid tank as there isn't room for the original. I think the same box was used on the 1997 to 2003 Grand Prix. Which means you should be able to find one at a reasonable price at a salvage yard. No more fooling with wood spacers.

After replacing the battery - I can't get that OEM carrier to tighten down properly. What am I doing wrong?

I got a deal on an Autocraft 34/78-4 battery from Advance Auto. It has both posts and side terminals. If it is a good fit in my truck, I'll post a photo on my bucket account. This is not my mod..... A friend of mine took. A Nissan exterra roof rack and cut it down to fit his 94 extended cab pickup. He done a good job I will post a few pics once I get some from him... We're a couple counties apart

There is an 89 runner near me with a factory sunroof. I was thinking of cutting it out with the factory metal and welding it into my pick up!

It's a good idea, just make sure to check how water drains from the sunroof, otherwise it will leak inside the cab.

yeah, there must be a hose or something. Maybe i could run it down the A pillar or back corner.

Seems like a lot of work though considering i don't own a welder.

Anyone have any experience with the headliners?

Dude... that's a lot of work for the sunroof. I don't even know if that's possible, the two models might even have a different frame to accommodate the sun roof. MAYBE a moon roof (doesn't retract, just cracks open), but even that is pushing it. One bad weld and it's dripping water on your head all winter.

On the other hand, I picked up the rear console cupholders from a 97 Ford Explorer. Thinking of mounting them either in the front (removing the tray) or the back of the center console of mine.

I nabbed some hummer h3 tow rings and a random tow hitch for my rear bumper build, a universal/adjustable hitch center section (fits perfectly between the frame rails) and ranger fx4 tow hooks for the front bumper build, a nice pair of bucket seats out of an acura rsx that were an easy install, chevy 63" rear springs, set of lx450 wheels, and wiper arms from a 00' 4runner that fit my 1st gen.
