Bear with me here!
I and countless others have beaten this topic to death, so bear with me..
At first I decided I wanted a 2" Toytec lift, and 33's...
Then I realized all the added stress lifting an IFS suspension creates, and realized IFS is stronger in stock form, so I was against altering the geometry and strength of the suspension system. I have decided I want a 3" body lift, because its a very solid modification that gives room for bigger tires, and doesn't create a harsh ride like most 4" run of the mill bracket lifts.. I want the 3" body lift no questions asked, but I want to know if I can run 33x12.5's with one, with out rubbing.. I want to purchase my tires from Treadwright.com, and they have either 31x10.5's, or 33x12.5's I think that if I get the 31's my truck will be fairly underpowered, and I would wan't to regear, and while Im at it I miswell regear to 4.88 and run 33's.. But I wanted to know if the 33x12.5's would rub... Also does anyone know how 31's look with a 3" bodylift? Or a 3" lift of anysort, I think they would look small(ish)

here's a pic of mine with a 4" suspension lift on p265/75r16's (approx 31")
personally, I wouldn't go over 2" with a body lift, but that's my opinion.
and as for the harsh ride, my 91 xcab rides much rougher.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter, 2" is the same as a 3"...
Thanks for the picture though, I may go ahead and do 31's with a 3" body, even though I guess they would clear stock..

It depends on the backspacing of your wheels. If you stick with stock, chances are you won't rub. If you went with a wider offset wheel (3-4"BS) you will have some rubbing. But nothing some trimming of the pinch weld couldnt fix.

I bought 10 inch rims with factory backspacing and 33x12.5's. I had a two inch body lift and gave it a try. The back was fine, but the fronts rubbed into the inner body seam on both sides...cut into the tires nicely!
I cranked the torsion a bit (a little bouncy now), and added the low profile upper bumpstop...and used a BFH on those seams...problems solved.
I would do it all over again too. I love the look of the 33x12.5's.
I also added add-a-leafs in the back to level out what I did in the front. Those blocks are silly.

Stock backspacing IIRC is 4.75"
To fit 33x12.50" (mud tires or all terrains/street tires?):
3" body lift
8-9" wide rim with 4.5" of backspacing
Some minor pounding of the pinch weld/inner fender.

I'll be running re-treaded BFG M/T's Are you sure I won't want a 10" wide rim? Thanks for the Info guys! I will be getting 33x12.5's, and If they rub too bad on the trail, I'll get some BJ spacers and Shackles, and beat the ever loving piss out of the inner fender!

If you go with 4.75" backspaced wheels you won't be able to run bj spacers without a wheel spacer. Go with 4.5 so you can still run the spacers if you want.
If you were to run a 10" wide rim your tire would be even wider. You might run into more rubbing issues. BUT a 8" rim will make the tire a tad taller when its all set.
With my rims ( 15x8.5 with 3.5" bs) I had some pretty bad rubbing, I pounded the pinch weld, and I added bj spacers so I could avoid rubbing on the street and mild trail use. I still rub under full flex situations. Almost enough to make me sas the bastard
So in closing:
15x10" rim if you don't mind trimming
4.5" backspaced wheel (so you have the option of running BJ spacers)
