you have to trick the ecu into thinking it is still an auto. There is no need to change the harness or ecu out for this swap.

Looks like it was the flex plate. The center mounting holes were wallowed out allowing the flex plate to shift around until it actually loosed under the bolts. I'm going to pick up a new one tomorrow.

I did the swap on my 86 about6 years ago the tranny came out of 91 truck, was able to get all the parts from the wrecking yard. cost wasnt cheap 800. or so. I didnt have to do anything with the ecu as just the normal wires , 4wh drive and neutral start switch is all. works fine

InternetRoadkill.......I would like to know if you fixed your 4runner?.....and how is it doing now?

I think I may have the same issue with my 95 4runner 3.0 .....but I'm not sure yet...mine seems to really bad when the O.D. is off...

I did purchase a stethoscope today.... and will try it out this weekend ...and will be searching for my vibration noises that I think may be coming from the front of the old A340H with 177,000 original miles.I think from the same area just between the engine and the shifter it's in that area.I can feel the vibrations through the shifter and the dang shifter moves a lot not normal for this much movement I have
any info will be appreciated
