While looking for a parts truck to get SR5 doors, I recently did a search on auto trader for '89 - '95 pickups around Dallas (where I am moving) with no limitations other than the year, and there were 8 of them. That same search around seattle would get about 50.

I have seen too many to count here around the Seattle area. I like my 4 door because of the access to the back but the 2 doors have a sporty look to me and I wouldn't mind owning one. I say keep it. Good luck

2 door runners were only produced up to the face lift. 90 and 91, at least as far as I've ever heard.
I got a 1990 Toyota 4Runner book at home, and it appears that the 2 door runner only came with a V6, but I'll double check.
the 2 door 4runners came with a bunch of standard features, as opposed to the 4 doors. I wonder if they didn't cost more than the 4 door 4runners, and thats why there are so few? lots of explorer's, blazer's, jimmy's from that time frame that are 2 door, so it was a popular option. price would be the limiting factor I believe.

It must be a West Coast thing! They are a pretty common occurrence over here on the island too. Here's just a few I found for sale in Vancouver.
