OK, Yeah, you got 2.1 ohms to ground so definitely a bad alternator.

Good decision. When you get it, double-check using same method above. You should get very high resistance from copper bolt to alt body.
Then, when you re-install alt, verify the voltage readings at various pins I outline on my post linked above.

To upgrade someday, in case you haven't found it yet, there's a Jaguar Alt upgrade.
Electrically plug n play, Mechanically just need to swap pulley with stock pulley AND slight bending of mount bracket.

I will check it rigorously.
I do like the look of that jag alt and i was going to do it but i want to get a second bracket to bend so i can always slap a stock one back in. Also i don't have the impact wrench necessary to change the pulleys.

I ordered one for a 94 4runner, same thing just 70 amps vs 60. Should be able to pick it up this afternoon.
