Aftermarket Gauges
88 22R SR-5 gauges:
I tried fixing the OEM cluster gauges using the procedure outlined so carefully in a sticky (thanks for that one, very grateful for the time and help)
Still, my OEM gauges suck. After 1 attempt, I'm back where I started: Temp goes to normal instantly; Fuel drops to zero after 50 miles.
So I've decided to put in my own custom gauge cluster on the passenger side of the dash between the center vents and the side vent. (I did this before in my Coronet years ago and it was great)
Anybody have experience drilling that area of the dashboard? Any advice?

It has been a while but when I swapped my dash pad I remember there to be quite a bit of support behind that spot……You might be better of doing some pillar gauges. I have to ask though are you sure it’s the gauge? Or could it be your sending units to the gauges?
