Advice need: fix, part out, sell?
Need a little help here. I'm at a stalemate with my 1991 Xtra cab V6 3.0 4x4. It has 210,000 miles on the body. Roughly 100,000 miles on a factory replaced 3.0 done by Toyota.
It looks like the engine is beginning to fail again. Overheating, shaky, bad compression, etc.
Not including the purchase price I've got over $6,000 into this over the past two years (not including engine replacement from previous owner). I've put all I've got into this and honestly I'm kind of over it.
Newer BFGs, ARB bumper, SR5 model, tons of OEM parts from under 20,000 miles. What should I do? Dump another $2k-$3k for yet another engine? Sell it "as is?" Part it out?
Any help would be great and thank you in advance.

My question what is the frame like and where do you live??
It sounds like your just burnt out on this one.
Can you set it aside for a few months or is it your daily driver??
I love rebuilding and restoring these trucks but if push comes to shove and it is all you have to drive it gets real old fast.
I have one now I have well over twice the $$$ you have in yours.
It is a member of the code of the week club I swear every week is something new. I dragged it out back where it sits till I get a 1997 4Runner FSM hard copy and start all over.
Unless you spend way more then the $ 6000 you have in this one you will be right back or even further back then where you are now.

The 3.0 V6 rigs are less desirable, not going to get a lot parting it out plus takes lots of time and effort. Sell on your local classifieds as mechanics special or parts rig. Or as some have said, the 3.4 V6 swap is quite popular.
