on the other hand...
the top bolt is a stud, not a bolt. pull the starter out and green loctite that thing in.
it'll save you a lot of wrist and finger cramps later on when you have to pull the starter again.

pictures or it didn't happen.

oh it most certainly did. You were right, I meant the top NUT. I was like, what in the hell, that clutch start cancel button is now removed from the vehicle and digarded in the proper manner. I am afraid if I twist my dimmer button my tires might explode.

The PO did the same thing in my truck. He just jumped the connectors on the switch and it fooled the switch into thinking it was always engauged....

That is the sound that my dad's starter made when it had a flat spot in the starter motor. we thought it had a dead battery at first so we went to jump it and it drew both of the cars down. we took the starter off and it had arc welded the winding to outside of the starter.

What you need to do is jack up the windshield wipers and put a whole new truck under it.

you shouldnt have to hold the clutch start button down just push it once, and once you push it it will stay lit until you shut the truck off, now for it not starting I dont think it has to do with the csc button because the clutch will over ride it when you push it in. Im thinkin if you here here a winding noise its your starter and it froze up. ive had it happen on one of my other yotas try tapping on your starter with a hammer, sometimes it works

I figured it out bro, in a synergistical act of holy matrimony, when I hit my clutch cancel button, the top nut on my starter evaporated and the lower bolt has started its journey to a rusty death in the median somewhere. So basically the starter was "hangin out" of the bell housing.
