'94 Pickup 22re idle problem
I have a 94 4x4 with 22re. When I start the truck it seems to run and idle just fine. Then 'alot' of the time but not always it idles up then bogs down when I am sitting still with my foot on the brakes. I can let off the brakes and it will rev up and stay that way sometimes but sometimes it will rev way up then bog back down. Also there is no hot air blowing from heater but then sometimes it will start blowing hot. Coolant is fine and no water in oil. I did bypass the Load Sensing valve sometime back but do not know if this caused the problem. I had read that people bypass them all the time and have heard nothing about this. I can also hear gurgling coming from the thermostat when I kill the engine. It is a new thermostat. Any help will be much appreciated.

Generally the thing to look at first is a vacume leak with an idle problem. Use carb cleaner and spray around and try to see if the idle changes.
And make sure that all connections are secure from the mass air flow to the head. That includeds the intake gaskets.

Throttle body shaft could be worn out. Use carb cleaner to see if its bad. I forgot to mention that water in a sprayer bottle will work as well when looking for a leak. Its cheaper and will not evap as fast so the effect of “sealing off” the leak lasts longer.
Learned that from a mechanic from Thailand , but he would use a water hose and slowly move it around the engine while it was running
