94 3vze problem child

Bought a running 3vze 94 4x4 for 400 bucks, I tossed the old springs and put some new ones in with a 1.25 coil spacer, and like a dummy I cranked the timing way too advanced and killed cylinder 5, swapped in another 3vz I was gifted, and it blew up after the first start.

Currently I'm going through a 3.0owners version of routine maintenance and doing a head gasket job along with cleaning everything/painting everything. I somehow managed to suck up a bunch of coolant through the intake due to what I think was a coolant line and not being clamped down all the way filling the valley and going in through a few toasted intake gaskets. Oh well not a big deal because I'm only a few hundred bucks into the whole truck registration and all, I don't pass smog in any of my cars and I'm going to get rid of ANY AND ALL vacuum lines along with deleting the cruise control (I drove to Alaska from southern California with no cruise control, so it doesn't matter to me). This is my first 3vz that im actually going through and cleaning up so any input would be welcome as far as what lines to delete, mines a 94 with the cruise control on the passenger fender and I'm planning on having both fenders as free real estate for on board air and other miscellaneous junk.

Explaining the solenoid codes, fixed these and replacing the solenoids anyway

Water going into cylinder 5

Swimming in the valley lol

Water in the cylinders, a truly great sight to see

cleaning up the engine bay

cruise control gone

Most people will tell you to toss the 3.0 while you got it like that & swap in a 3.4 or a Chevy 4.3......
I like my 3.0. I done aA LOT of good stuff to it.
I'll tell you this. Get rid of that friggin' exhaust crossover pipe between the firewall and the block that I see all wrapped up.
Still gonna get too hot. Cross it underneath.
Have fun!

Long tube headers will do that nicely and they slip in so much more easily with the heads off. I did take the precaution to wrap the passenger side one because of all the lines and such on that side. Be sure to check that block deck for warp before the heads go back on!

Yup. Correctomundo.
The long tubes made a HUGE difference on my 3.0.
Of course I didn't put the EGR or PAIR back on.
