93 Military Toyota Pickup
#24
I have never been a huge fan of Camouglage vehicles but this is badass!
I may be contacting you to get a few pointers as I may try this with my Toyota. It is a dedicated hunting rig and I guide and outfit hunts for a living. Would be a great attention getter and it would have my logo and number on it.

I will now divulge some of my secrets. If you know anything about Miltary stuff, they idiot proof everything which means there is a manual or instructions for EVERYTHING, including Camo Patterns. I used pattern from M1008 which is a full size pickup. Now before you start checking me, I deviated slightly in the front of my truck cause I started patterning it after the deuce, and then had the brilliant idea of using the M1008 Camo Pattern. Its like color by number, 1= Black, 2= Olive Drab, 3= Brown

That's flippin' sweet. That's why everybody's home shot camo job tends to look like doodie. Ya gotta idiot proof everything, I know, I've been idiot proofed, myself!

This is a great thread.
I am a huge camo fan and have seen all sorts of camo paint jobs on trucks good and bad. This certainly ranks up there with the better of them. I'd probably put black wheels on it but that's jus personal preference.
That paint-by-number diagram is awesome.

Will check it out after work. I imagine they love them for the same reasons we do though: Reliable, cheap plentiful parts, you can work on it with a phillips and some sockets, and it will run forever!

You asked and now you shall receive. I don't have a whole lot of photos but here is some of what I have. These first few is how she looked when she was bought. Bone stock that is.
This is a good shot to show you size. Now 350Z is a small car but its not that small, its not the size of a miata or anything like that. These also are after switching to super singles with 48" Michelins. Now you will be shocked to know that there is less than $10K in the whole deuce.
Last pic is of Yota before I did anything to it.

Yes, I think it is about perfect, for the size tire it looks right. It lifted the truck by about an inch and still have plenty of tire travel in the fender well. It will go all the places I need it to go.

Ignorant question (sorry):
What kind of masking did you do? I assume you masked up the windows, and the drop-out on the tailgate looks like it has a nice sharp edge. The the color-color edges look gradually blended. Is that just a careful job (no masking) with a spray-can?
