IT'S OK, I'M FROM THE INTERNET AND I'M HERE TO HELP!

You can solve this problem by cycling your computer's power supply on and off about 30 times, to drain off excess transient hysteresis loops caused by parasitic capacitance in your network card.* It's a common issue due to the higher wattage outputs of modern power supplies while devices on the PCI bus haven't really been updated to do more than handle the extra power.

*DON'T DO THIS, IT WILL BLOW UP YOUR COMPUTER!

92 TOY try removing the youtube tags from around the url and let the auto-parser do it's job, looks like that's what everyone else does.

For where I live.... asking companies to NOT USE FEDEX saves me 2-3 days for each package.

Seems FEDEX doesn't like driving 30+ miles out of town except on days they have it skueduled or if they have enough packages to make it "worth their time"...

Brown shows up w/ anything, ~"on time", and does not use exemption wavers for out of town runs.

Fed Ex does not get my $$ unless nothing else is available!

Really? Where I am UPS is to be avoided at all costs, the brown "stinks." I refuse to get anything shipped by them and try to get things shipped via Canada Post (or USPS if it's coming from the States) or Purolator. I've been jacked around by UPS a lot, things like them claiming to make delivery attempts on the online tracking at times where it was clearly impossible for me to miss the package (like when mowing the front lawn), not leaving delivery attempt notices, etc. The best times were when they'd make me go to the distribution hub which isn't all that close to where I live, the inside of that place is a horror show, every time I've heard glass break multiple times, saw them drop and kick boxes of computing hardware (guess the word fragile doesn't mean anything to them), stack things up precariously high and then laughing after they fall. One time I ended up waiting an hour for someone to find my package because they didn't bother to look in the cage lockup by the door and then disappeared for the full hour (I spent the time looking at my package and wondering if I could just break the lock on the cage) before saying they couldn't find it until I pointed out that it'd been in the cage the whole time ("OH! Most of the time we get packages from Microsoft they're huge, not tiny like that, I was looking for a BIG box." ). The HDD in said package (the box was 90% tape, 2% cardboard, and 8% frickin' magic that it didn't fall apart) ended up not working either because the circuit board on it was cracked during shipping and they wouldn't honour the insurance. They also like to deliver at the latest possible time of day (after 7pm) even when I've been told it'll be there first thing in the morning.

FedEx is little better, but at least most of the time I don't get damaged boxes from them and they deliver at much more reasonable hours of the day, but they've jerked me around too.

i don't remeber if it was FEDEX or UPS, but one time i was waiting for VERIZON package for a new phone, that needs to be signed for, and i was "unavailable"...about 20 feet way in the bathroom when i heard the doorbell and arrived in time for the guy to be driving away down the street. i called the # on the slip and asked if the driver could come back since he was only like a minute away....no dice......had to wait for the next day....

Heh, usually I'm in the basement of the house mucking about with my computers so I generally post a note on the door saying to wait a minute or two for me to get upstairs, usually works. One of the local Purolator (a shipping company you've likely never heard of, though you've likely heard of Purolator oil filters and stuff, which might be the same company) drivers knows that sometimes I don't hear the bell so if he sees a note, instead of going to the front door he'll go around back and look in the sliding glass door to see if I'm down there and then bang on it until he gets my attention.

I've had UPS drive away on me without even bothering to ring the bell, multiple times. One time I was standing just inside the door when they posted the notice on the window and I jumped out and said "Hey, you know you could've rung the bell, right? I was right inside the door!" Another time I ran after the truck on my bike and caught up with him at the round-about just down the street from me, parked it in front of him, and told him in no uncertain terms that I wasn't moving until he properly delivered my package just because he was too lazy to wait the 30 seconds for me to get to the door. Other shipping companies will at least have the courtesy to wait a minute or two, even FedEx.
