my brother, I have succeeded in reinstalling my oil pan. It is a royal pain. The engine mount removal and jack up method works. Best of luck to you.

YIKES...not there yet. I'm hoping i don't have to.that will be my next "project"......my diff moved alot the other day, besides it's little nose dive, so i'm hoping that it can do that again, but this time, when i want it to do it.

what does thrust washers have to do with a head gasket/timing chain job?

"rotate the thrust washer into position .....with the grooves facing out".....no clue what that means but maybe it helped.

nono the thrust washer, All I am thinking of is the internal crankshaft thrust washers lol. You didn't pull the motor and not tell me did you????? lmao

i didnt read all of your progress prob go back threw it later on but one way to help clean your engine after your done to make sure all the nasty is out is get extra oil enough for 2 oil changes and put 2 qaurts or so of diesel fuel in with your oil ( dont over fill the engine though) run tell reaches operating temp then drain it will keep the engine clean and help remove sludge build up i do that to my truck i add diesel fuel to the oil get her warmed then drain it she has been very clean and runinng great i also did it to my 79 chevy mud truck with 383 stroker you"d be amazed at the results

hey all kidding aside, I looked back at the head when you put it on, did you grease up the cam and tops of valves and pcak the oil pump with it when you reassembled it?

hmmmm ive herd of that to but never done it i think diesel fuel is a better cleaner and still has sum lube to it ha my gramps use to clean parts with it instead of solivent hmmm maybe should check out the msds sheet on diesel he he oh well good luck keep after im proud of ya jumping in there

been there done that with trans fluid.

Good I couldn't tell if there was grease on it from the photo of the head installed.

Hey ya 92 just to let you know I did some back road/highway/normal type road driving today and not having the front swaybar in did not hurt at all. In fact it rode a bit smoother than before. Now the only thing I have not done today was a hard braking down hill turn...but then again it's a 92 pickup not a 78 280Z so the cornering that I'm doing isn't considering cornering...
