so now, I can officially wear an LC Engineering sticker.....even though I only spent under $14 with them , I still bought stuff.

Crankshaft bolt from them is on....

GEEZ...this looks familiar

didn't work...so I had to modify it a little....medium torque wrench with a little "twist...held in place with my foot.....I'm gonna be sore.....

and with that I started turning, I had already done quite a bit with a normal socket wrench......this time it was the 1/2'' drive with the 6 point 19mm impact socket....a with that and a little effort it "clicked" and I thought, that was too easy , so i picked up the ratchet, made sure it was still at 116ft/lbs and 'click" again....I guess I was good......

so my little trick worked twice.

one of those other reasons it's easier with the motor out. real easy to grab hold of the other side of the crank.

I should start a thread containing top 10 reasons to pull the motor. haha. I got you twice now and lumpy once...

BTW, I still don't have 1 rotor off yet. Had to practically rebuild a caliper becuase I couldn't get the pistons to push back. lol. hope I don't have to do it on the other side.

Looks really good Jerry. I like the detail in painting and cleaning everything.

Appeals to my OCD side.

here's what i'm gonna do.

it's taken me this long to get this far, so i'm gonna break it down into a realistic list of things to do.

-have to go to the dealer. need FIPG and 3 belts and that hose from the timing cover to the block and some crush washers.

-dedicate a day to do the pan....and maybe the diff etc...

-do the exhaust side since i feel this is the easier side

-do the intake side

I'm going to read my notes i made for myself and look at my pics too.

soon enough it will be ready to try to start.....can't hardly wait.

so here's another bright idea.

I'd like to keep and eye on my temperature and oil pressure and i guess my volts VIA one of those 3-gauge clusters....mechanical I've read.

how much of a pain the the butt are these to mount....i'm thinking this because I touch the (?) oil pressure sensing valve thingy(I may have made up that one) below the oil filter and I was wondering if that's where it gets hooked into as well as where does the temperature one go? waste of time or good investment...and is this the point to do it while i can still access that area.

Way to go man looking great!!! You are well on your way. And as for stopping to play with the kiddies it's over rated...I got mine today and he's been shooting people all day and now he want's to shoot me (Modern Warfare). Just kidding about the kids, I'd rather be doing something with he, I only really see him on the weekends.

So I'll give you your break down:
Day 1. Oil pan w/ pickup and front diff w/ all accessories
Day 2. Take care of both intakes
Day 3. Install belts, fan, and all other little parts

Hopefully during day 3 you will be able to install the distributor. Just realize you probably will be a tooth or two off when you install it. Keep in mind that you have to have it twisted (I believe counter clock wise) a bit to have the rotor to be where you want it. I was off 1 tooth when I started mine.

still playing the ''where the hell does this gasket go" game. i know all i have to do is email Ted and he'd tell me the ingredients to his gasket kit but this is more fun....you know me, i like to do things the complicated way.

You will have left over gaskets so don't be too worried about that...
