so, on today's episode:

I plan on cleaning up the rocker assembly and those corresponding holes on the intake side of the head so that the assembly matches up with less effort..

i will loosen up those set screws to get it to sit better too.

I'm going to have to buy a set of feeler gauges to get the rockers to sit near correct even though i know i really have to adjust them when the engine is at operating temp.

that part rattles me....I hate the idea of taking off that valve cover once I have it on....it's a total PITA .......maybe I will search BLEEDER's pics (bows head in memory of his truck) to see what he did to eliminate all that crap on top of the cover.

Well you will want to adjust the valves first off cold just to get her running. You will do this after the head is on and just before you get the valve cover installed. You will have to turn the motor a few times to get the lobes right. When I did mine I set 4 turned the motor set 4 turned checked 4 and set turned set 4 and checked.

Doing it warm is not all that bad. You just have to take the vac plate off the top and pull the cover. Not a lot to it.

Now...

the 2 buggers I have circled in red are backed out a HORRIFYING amount!! But upon further review I see that they both are at or near the apex of their cam lobes....(stop to allow the chill from my vast understanding to fade)....and I understand why the were so tight, and I also understand why I had to loosen them to get that assembly one.....it's like an epiphany.........

If you want to see the pretty pictures you should use your computer to remote to your home computer to look at YotaTech pictures... Not that I'm telling you how to circumvent the system.
