looking at them i'm gonna say they go in order...cylinder 1,2,3,4....because #2 was the one I had to mess with the spark plug and as you can see by that pic, the spark plug is not showing.

By rail, do you mean the rocker assembly? Mine was hard to pry off. Loosening all the rocker adjusting screws first would have probably made it easier, but I didn't think of that at the time. I left the screws backed out all the way when I put it back on.

I did the exact same thing, had to fight it to come off, then backed off the rocker adjustment when I put it back on.

yes rocker assembly thing.
i will definitely post about this when i am doing it.
just put the chain back on, lining up is a PITA....especially by yourself......found a new use for a head bolt to wedge the upper gear thing in place while messing with the bottom....thank goodness i put white model paint on the bright links and the corresponding indents.

Oooo ya I forgot about having to loosen the adjusting screws on the rockers... Oops well you got it anyway. Just be sure to have them loosened when you go and put it back together or you will not get a good reading on the head bolts when you torque them down.

BINGO...
that's the part that has had me sick since last week. when I "pryed" it off and then put it back together, it did not seat flush again....half of my brain thought the head bolts would snug it down, the other half thought it would falsify a torque reading....so in that respect, I am glad i will be doing this little "side project"....how many of those have there been?????

yes well......I totally agree and it's kinda like Thanksgiving dinner......you cook up the pies, the taters , the turkey.....the everything, you spend countless hours doing it and eventually it all turns to poop...............oh, wait.....that's a bad analogy.
i crack myself up........
