Cheaper to hire someone to mow the land than it is to repair your engine

uh, NO.

It's funny, I have a story for everything.

We used a DREMEL to cut through a ring a guy put on his junk once....was over a 1/4'' thick wall collar from a weight machine, with an inside diameter of about a 25cent piece.

Never saw him again after that.......oh, the stories......

Here is your new mission if you choose to accept it.

Create a thread of ER/Medical Stories, other people will chime in on things they have seen or experienced.

You go at this not alone, Agent 92, but with the whole ToyAgency behind you.

The advantage is having an ABSOLUTE grip on the bolt.
Two things.. first, try flipping it over on the breaker bar -- without detaching socket from breaker bar, just flip it over to use other side of breaker bar. Usually the 1/2" square is offset a little from the six points such that this will give you a new position to tug from.

Second, pop the socket off of the breaker bar, rotate it 90-degrees and re-stab the breaker bar in it. This is a guaranteed 30-degree (or 60-degree) shift in your position due to the 6-point-vs-4-point difference.

For how much I would LOVE to do something like that, my better judgement won't allow me do that.

I would never want anyone to ever trip across this forum and think that I am unprofessional and capitalizing and / or in any way compromising their privacy.

People have been fired (not where I work thankfully), for posting anonymous(but traceable) pictures taken at work.

So, in other words, I can't. Sorry.

But do know this, in 15 years of straight ER work and the 7 years prior to that of doing pre-hospital work (medic unit), I have seen plenty, there's not much I haven't seen, but sometimes I get a new one. That mini story I told before was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of story considering the strength of the ring (weight collar) used...there have been plenty of other stories of things stuck in and on places that are a common thread in ER work.

So, if you are ever curious if I have a story about _______, you will just have to ask.

I dont want pictures, haha ....

It's not illegal to post information as long as it's not specific to one person and you don't name them or affiliates or even your hospital.

I'm expecting something along the lines of 'this guy once had his foot cut off while mowing' ..... or this kid ate a ball bearing.... That's about it .... nothing too graphic, just funny and lighthearted.

If they die at the end, I dont want to hear it

OK, we will see.

Anyway, back to the show.

So after my son and I split duties cutting MOST of the lawn util it got too dark by 645 , i took the webbing off the pulley.

So, in wanting to get my pistons back to TDC, I could not turn the pulley by hand. So guess what I did next.

Yep. Put the bolt back on.

And in manually turning it to TDC, I tightened the bolt up quite a bit too. But, anyway, that's about as dramatic as it gets. I was able to get the bolt back off without strapping it again.

I then tried to pull the pulley off with my hands. YEAH, RIGHT! used the handle end of the breaker bar to work it about 1/2 way off and then I stopped. I'm thinking I probably should drain the oil now. Unsure of what actually will happen, I envisioned a flow of oil , so I stopped right there.

I do have a pulley puller, looks like a pain in the butt to use because I have to take 3 bolts from the pulley to use it. But I see how it will work to evenly pull the pulley off. I am also going to read up on the procedure as well.

Don't get too hungry for anything tomorrow, have to go into work (MY DAY OFF) to do some education work and attend an awards ceremony.

Yes, it's the front crank pulley. And thanks for letting me know I won't spill oil.
