hey.....c'mon....I DID have it all together when he got there. gimme some credit here.

hehehehe

had closed the garage door a few minutes before Brandon got here because I was done. and because the religion peddlers stopped by and I didn't feel like talking to them again. i was polite.....but...

took it for another ride. made the wife ride shotgun. went to the school board meeting and then for smokes. so, all in all, put about another 10 miles on it. some weird rattling is happening, but i'm fairly confident it's from a support that's supposed to be attached to the exhaust.

runs fine......will take it to work tomorrow and the next day. also, going to trade my caliper for my "core" deposit and probably grab another one for the passenger's side.

Maybe I am contagious too since I got that loose exhaust bracket thingy going on too. Mine doesn't rattle though.

I didnt know you had it done before he got there. Way to go, great job!!! I know you were frustrated when the problem first came about, hopefully the satisfaction level beat the frustration level. Great job again.

OK...I will take them then.

2 days in a row I was within a mile of autozone and I could have returned the caliper to get my core money, but 2 days in a row i was late getting out of work, flying low to get home. today i have to run in the total opposite direction and want to get back home to see the PSU game.

and then change Joe's oil and cut the grass.

oh, herro.

well. yesterday, attempting to take advantage of some unseasonably warm weather (like 52 degrees), figured i'd attack some nagging items on my truck.

1st of all, need to thank my Russian friend Vitaly, for sending me a stereo (and candy) last week. tis a sweet looking Pioneer MOSFET 50. looking forward to having some music in my truck again, as my stereo crapped out YEARS ago. finally, earlier this year, I yanked the stereo out as it began to give a little wisp of smoke.

anyway, a 2nd issue was that I broke my fan speed controller a few years ago and have had a replacement sitting on my desk for almost exactly a year.

so, with warm weather......but really, it was windy and was not as nice as it could have been.....i decided to tear apart my dash.

new switch is in, had to rig it up since I broke a small piece of plastic from the mount and had to zip-tie it into place. but it works and I have all of my settings again.

stereo....meh....that's for another day. I had a new one installed shortly after I bought the truck....20 YEARS AGO! the wiring looks like it's all there. i even have new speakers that I installed a year ago (or more) because I had damaged a door one from pushing on it too many times with my foot.

well, the stereo didn't get installed, was too pressed for time. even on my day off I had running around to do. Joe was at the local firehouse "training" because he wants to be a volunteer (a junior) very soon and Jeff was promised a trip to the local coin shop ( a budding Numismatist, he is). so with limited time, I considered it a small victory that I have good heat now and will re-visit the stereo install another day.

Joe wants to be a volunteer fire-fighter and ambulance guy. That's how it all started for me. Not going to hamper him at all. good group of guys here. I know quite a few of them from dealings in the ER. just not the same as when I was starting off and we had a dozen or so ambulance calls a day and fire calls too. My experience was fast and intense, his will not be. But I will be right here.

Jeff on the other hand has begun collecting coins. not something I ever gave serious consideration to, but that's his thing now. santa got him a container to keep them in and he bought another one on his own. i know the guy from the coin shop from years ago and he gave Jeff and rare penny and a price guide for free. I think the guy was tickled that jeff has an interest in it. so am I.

OK...sorry to bore. but, that's about all that's happening here lately. joe will be 16 in a few days. his 4runner is running fine about 4 thousand miles into it now.

YO!

been forever since I updated anything here.

runs fine...still drips a bit of oil from the back of the pan, but it's been doing that since I pieced it back together.

exhaust is holding up just fine. stereo works flawlessly (thanks again VITALY!)

a bit of a rumbly vibration ....I'm thinking u-joint. but nothing violent or concerning.

although we didn't really have much of a winter this year, the truck was as sure-footed as always in the snow. Joe has been driving it quit a bit (still with the learner's permit).

wanted to put new shocks on...because i wanted to, not because i need to....but money, as usual , is at a premium and needs to go in a lot of other places 1st.

nothing much else to say. so i guess, no news is good news.

Of course..... when I FINALLY have a free day to start prepping the Con-Ferr for Powdercoating/paint(Haven't decided), .... IT'S POURING ALL DAY! lol. Suiting, I suppose, to day, "When it rains, it pours!"
