WOW.....
OK...here we are...I knew yesterday was important for a reason...was 1 year ago (May 20,2010) that my truck was born-again.
probably have put about 10 thousand miles on it...not quite sure right now.
runs fine.
still never replaced those 3 exhaust nuts that go from the manifold to the down -pipe and my exhaust patch job is not holding up very well from where I broke it 4-wheeling......but besides that stuff.....nothing.
hope it lasts a looooooong time. it is, indeed, my daily driver and I love every moment driving it......even though I have no radio and the air conditioner tensioner bolt fell out so I have no air (who cares....except the wife).
so there ya have it...1 year update.

thanks man.....being that I've had it since October 1991 when it was new, it's totally my 1st baby and a veritable family member to me.

Glad to here you have had relatively trouble free miles in your baby. aren't you glad "you" fixed it? look at the experience & knowledge you gained.
I was 33 in 85 and it was a dismal decade for rock overall, didn't much like hair bands. there were some moments, but not like the 70's. 90's was a comeback decade.

Wow!! One year already. Doesnt seem possible. I remember coming across your thread and knowing anxious you must of felt. Can I do this, need another car, another car cost to much, probably some of the questions that went thru your mind. Always looked forward to the next step and then one day, "Its Alive!"
Glad to see you went the "Im going to fix it" route. Enjoy your hard work.

thanks guys.
yes...definitely worth doing the repair myself in that I gained alot of confidence.
only new stuff will be to eventually put on the new bumper.

well.....it's parked again.
ran with the boys to a yard sale, grocery store and we were going to look for more yard sales on the way home......noticed liquid under my truck when we were at the store , figured it couldn't be from me, as there's always something on the ground in every parking spot.......drove about 1 mile and noticed the temp gauge started to climb.......gauge always rock solid predictable in tat it gets to about the 11 o'clock position before the thermostat opens and then settles in at about 1/3rd....NEVER an issue. so I pulled over where it was safe (2 lane highway, had to find a spot)...popped the hood and coolant steaming from under the intake. being that sight is very limited in that area and in the blazing sun and with steam it was very hard to tell exactly where it was coming from....my view was looking at the #2,3,4 areas..#2 and 3 in particular....could not see anything active, though I could hear it. so....commence waiting for a tow truck and blah-blah-blah and text KIYO and LOGAN and LUMPY and VITALY for an hour and the truck is now back home.
so thanks guys for the moral support while I was siting there....I had my mom come and pick up the boys since it's already quite warm and the only shade was gonna be under the truck.
and NO, Logan.....it's not fixed yet.

I'm thinking not. I'm suspicious of that hard line that goes under the intake...wondering if using RTV and the old o-ring finally let go.
don't have time to check it out. have NOT started anything on Joe's like we wanted too. grrrrrrrrrrr
EDIT...remember...it's that DUAL thermostat
