was having a beech of a time with the small fuel line at the top of the EFI to the cold start injector.......not sure if the line got twisted while it was packed away or what but i dropped 2 of my 3 new crush washers.....have to find them tomorrow.....going to take the cold start injector off and install the fuel line into it and then re-install the injector since it is less fragile and has a bigger area to maneuver.
other than that, things went pretty well.
had to take the fuel rail off again after i installed the injectors because even though the wires for the injectors go over the top of the rail, the wiring harness goes underneath it....found that out when i was trying to put the EFI on and it wouldn't sit right.
i'm down to the part where i am just about out of paper bags......wooohooo.....
-have to put the distributor in
-have to hook up the 2 canisters.... charcoal and ???else that round one is towards the front.
-have to check the little coolant hoses before i get much farther ahead
-have to do all the vacuum hoses
-have to do a cursory cold set of the valves since i loosened them soooooo much to get the rocker arm assembly on.
-install half-moon plugs....have waited on this and will save it until almost last because i don't want to whack into them and loosen them up.

Great job 92, it is looking better all the time. Im on my two week break from Uncle Sams desert vacation and am putting a used motor in my truck but you have inspired me to rebuild my old one. Looking forward to see you get this running. Like your personnel truck plates.

thanks guys......excited but more nervous than anything.......whatever happens, happens.
funny thing is that it's going from "i wonder what goes there?" to "ahhhh, that's what goes there". for how well i thought i labeled and bagged and documented and photographed, i really could have and should have done more of that....would have alleviated alot of anxious moments.

just was clicking around on the "86-95 trucks and 4runners" category, and not counting the STICKYS...this tread is the #2 overall viewed thread and #1 replied-to thread.

well, again, amazed at how much time i spent and how little i got accomplished.
argued with hose clamps for the little coolant hos that goes from the back of the timing cover to under the throttle body........evil friggin little squeeze clamps....but i finally got it.
argued with the little fuel line that feeds the cold start injector.....could never get it to line up just right...and because it's a rigid hollow line, i was deathly afraid of breaking it or bending it.....likewise i was nervous as all hell in the thought of stripping the little screw or the threads inside the cold start injector.
so the secret to the cold start injector is to have it OUT of the upper intake.....screw in the fuel line with 2 crush washers.....THEN attach it to the EFI part.......once i figured that all out, it was gravy.
soooooooo.....a pic of what I would recommend to do when working on this particular part....a wad of paper towels to act as a drop clot of sorts to catch the crush washers that will be falling. need 2 ordered 3, lost 1....so i was still good ***pats self on back for thinking ahead***
and the finished product....
also, cleaned out the back of the truck......only stuff in the back of it now are what's essential / leftover to install. also cleaned everything out front under the truck, all my boxes that i painted on and lots of stuff that has nothing to do with this project that ended up getting stuffed under there.
