Yeah I've been caught up with school. I've lost some of my momentum and I still have the CEL and miss... Give me one good weekend and maybe I might get it done. The engine jacking method works but you have those auto lines on top.

if i had figured out early enough that the one diff mount was binding against the frame and i was going to gain another inch or so by pushing it off to the side, i probably would have had an easier time and not scraped up my beautiful paint job.

no big deal though.

and really the way i feel, if it leaks, at least i will know from where and why and not get really uptight about it.

so as soon as the 2nd kiddo got on the school bus I snapped this pic...

then i commenced to putting the bolts back...temporarily. finger tight for now, but will use red locktite as i can see green-ish locktite on them so i assume they need it.

i'm not quite sure why i had to use the "match marks" as the FSM says to do, but my little model paint job did the trick. just a little nudge here and there and i was able to get everything lined up just right and place the bolts with no effort.

nice job on getting the pan on. You're in the home stretch now. Do you have a projected eta on firing that thing up?

and if i recall correctly, i can't quite fit a socket wrench on those and had to use a regular wrench and an adjustable one.

might want to just finger tight everything until you get it lined up. I did the drive shaft last when i dropped my diff but to each to thier own. It made it easier to wiggle with it disconnected.

No, not really, just a punch-list of sub projects .... as i cross those off, the finish line gets closer.

that pan really was a complete pain and then some.....it can be done as has been posted by me, but OY!

today, try to get the diff all back in place and then lower the truck back down to the ground....mind you, it's been a good foot up in the air for several months and makes for a long reach for alot of the stuff.

really I'm just reversing my steps.....i won't exactly tighten it down for good just yet. it's just with the multiple articulations of that diff, it's kinda like arm wrestling an octopus. i want to at least use the driveshaft-leaning-on-the-swaybar to be an extra set of hands for me.

Yeah that sounds smart for the extra help when wrestling it in place. Take pics when it sets on the ground for us.
