hey wow it didn't get moved.
plans are for wednesday...and thurs and friday.... my 3 days off, and hopefully a little warmer.
umm yeah, you missed a little.
Kiyo....I'm gonna get it in place dry and see how much room i have to wiggle it around.....assuming not enough to reach all around the pan i will probably approach it from the block side and press the pan in place. unfortunately, i'm reading that i have about a 5 minute window with that stuff, so whatever i do, i better have my ducks in a row 1st.

Buy your wife some flowers as a bribe for your safety.
Almost there man, if things go right you could be up and trying to sell your caddy by the end of the week!

Im betting you have this running by the weekend. It looks great and your attention to details it should run like a champ. One thing you will want to make sure is some the hoses will last forever, but when you started tugging and twisting to get them off, it will really weaken them. I had one to spring a leak, luckily I caught it in time. You might be surprised at how fast it will fire up when you do start. Might be a few smells, just oil and such burning off. While you have your radiator out I would recommend getting it flushed. You can see the finish line, Great job.

thanks Terry. thanks for the encouragement.
the radiator is essentially new...less than 1 year old...so i really have no worry about it. but before i put the expensive Toyota red stuff in the radiator i will run just plain water for a good flushing of it.
if all goes right today, which in my brain is not shaping up real well, i will play with trying to get the pan back on today and if not, then today and tomorrow. have to find the specs for putting the oil pickup tube back on , that will promise to be a big PITA to try to get everything right on the 1st try.
when i put my head back on, i have to say i impressed myself....because the overall size of the head, with the EGR installed and the tubes attached to the back of the head was quite wide, and heavy and awkward. because holding and estimated 40lb thing out at almost arm's length and getting it to match up 2 dowel pins on the 1st try was quite a fete...but it really happened that way....all that while trying to not knock the timing chain off.
i apologize again about the pics....i have 100's of pics....i will post them all back up when i write a concise "how to" thread for NEWBs like me, bu in the meantime if anyone needs any pics just say so.
