89-95 IFS Trucks With 37" Tires... Completely Confused.
#21
It's totally possible to pull this off, but why not just stay with a more moderately sized tire under 35" and instead invest your money in traction devices/lockers and/or gears? 37" tire isn't going to help you at all when you're spinning single tires from open diffs. Plus, do you have enough lift to clear a 37 or are you going to use a cutoff wheel?

My friends up north run 33 9.5 or 32 9.5 with moderate success. A good snow tire plus 4Hi will do wonders. Add snow chains, bit of weight in the rear, and your truck won't even try to slide off the road. 37s are useless unless you're driving through crazy deep snow banks or something..

Thanks for the reply Highonpottery. You make some great points there , but I have decided on the 37s for piece of mind (in deep snow) and plus 37s just looks darn b@dazz to be honest. I have a 4-5 inch Rough Country suspension lift, and 3 inch body lift which is waiting for install before the tires go on. Thanks again for your reply.

It all depends on the type of snow are you breaking a trail .
Or driving on hard snow pack that was like my driveway most of the winter
Then of course temperature plays a big part the colder the better the traction.
It all comes down to what your use is I run all 235/75 /15 tires on all my Toyota 4x4`s Because they work for me.
Being able to mix and match tires across 8 or 9 vehicles makes it nice.

You planning on something like this, but with more lift?

i think you should not just be worried about the tire size for the truck but that size while pushing all that snow.
i'd go with 33's pr 35's, chains, and lockers. if the snow is that craycray, just go with mattracks.

are you trying to go much deeper than this?

So as a result it will be 37's I decide on especially now since based on the replies here, it seems absolutely do-able like I was hoping to read. Thanks.

Thanks for that advise. After the tires (and lift) go on, I am going to consider replacing front end parts with heavier duty pieces. I am thinking idler arm, steering upgrades, and CV joints/axles replacements. Since I wont be rough on it, I guess I can get by for awhile on stock parts. Thanks.
