88 wont start. Carb?
My 88 will turn over but wont start. It seems like it wants to start but it wont. its getting spark from the igniter. the plugs look brand new? (only owned for a week) After i try and start it i can smell gas. What could be the problem? i tried dumping allitle gas down the carb and nothing. dont know what to try now. Hope some of you toyota masters can help. Thanks in advance!

First check the mechanical timing. Pull the distributor cap and make sure the rotor is pointing at the number 1 plug when the engine is at TDC.
The next step is to check the compression. Also check to see if there is oil mixed with your coolant.
Is the chock fully closed?
