'88 4runner Diagnostics pulling codes
The check engine light has been coming on in the 4runner intermittently, usually at start up. I have been trying to figure out how to pull the codes using 4Crawler's cheap tricks page. The 4runner has the Later model FP-B+ Jumper. I inserted a gym clip in each port and turned the ignition to on, engine not running, and loe and behold... nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?
BTW, don't know if it makes any difference, 22R-E, 5-Speed

Mine doesn't have those ports labeled. I have a E1 and T port. I'll take a stab at making a diagram.
From the top
0 0 Ect
0 E2 Tem
0x 0
E1 0 0
0 T Vf
Fp Cco +B
0 represents blanks ports.
What I tried doing was inserting the gym clip into the Fp and +B ports, which are located closest to the passenger side fender. I'm not sure if those are the correct ports or not.

You likely want T and E1 to get the diagnostics mode:

O.K., code 21 should be a simple fix, but code 51 could have a couple of causes. Also, I am not sure that I actually understand what the TPS does. It also mentions A/C circuits... The air conditioning does not work, but I assumed that it is just low freon. What is the most probable cause of this code? Thanks.

Is it likely that the two are related? Could the oxygen sensor be causing the code 51 also? Or are these two most likely two seperate problems?
Thanks,
Michael
