Thanks, guys.......

WOW, Mike... that stinks! Oh, and btw... YOU MADE IT? COOL! lol... I will probably use the RV product that Matthew was talking about. I've heard of it before, and I think it's meant to leave in a certain time and then flush, without doing any damage to metals.... It only attacks certain minerals, like Calcium, etc.

I hear ya, Lumpy...... I'm going to do whatever those that service them for a living do(hopefully not including removing it! hahaha)

Well, that's nifty! Where else did you hear about it? What you're saying about it is right. The product is sodium chlorite. But, once you ad an acid base to it.....like citric acid, it's changes ph and then becomes a solution of chlorine dioxide. The chlorine dioxide is a gas that eventually dissipates. It's used to purify water, among other uses.....obviously.

My wife forwarded me an email that was sent to her on how to use it for the heater core. Lemme find it and I'll post what it says.

No, it's fine. I was just yankin' yer chain. If you read a page or few back, you'll see the conclusion came to a bad cam. Long story. As you can see, a 33pg story.

UPDATE!!!!!!

THE 261 CAM IS IN! ........and...................

1. It PURRS compared to where I was at!

2. The massively jumpy timing (3-5 Degrees back and forth) is almost GONE!

3. It is dialed in to specs, broken in for 25 Minutes, oil drained, refilled and driven around for about an hour now.

All in all it seems to have solved 90% of my problem!!!!!!!! But I digress to say, THANK YOU, ANDY, SO MUCH, for helping me pull the rockers, inspect, insert new cam, re-install rockers assembly and head bolts, strapping it down to begin with..... ANDY, seriously, you're a great guy and I appreciate your help beyond what words could express! Not just this time, either... but every time you've helped! AGAIN, THANKS!!!!

Thanks, also, to EVERYONE who stopped by here and lent a thought or two, or 100(MATTHEW, AKA- THOOK!) HAHAHA. I will NOT be getting ahead of myself, especially until I can put some miles on it... but it is DEFINITELY running SO MUCH smoother, ...in fact, so much so that, IT HAS ME OVER ANALYZING! HAHAHA. Ya know what I mean?... "hearing every lil bump"... which is funny, cuz I could hardly hear ANYTHINGGGGGG any longer. It was REALLY running poorly, and while it might have gone on for another 20K without any MAJOR issues... it MIGHT NOT HAVE, as well, lol. I'm really glad I decided to not quit until it's at least 'REALLY TIGHT'.... I can live with that.... Not expecting perfection.. but GOSH that was annoying!

I have to serve dinner in 20 minutes and I PROMISE, I'm sorry that I didn't update this sooner! lol. When I have a few, later, I'll post a DETAILED 1.,2.,3., etc. on 'HOW TO SWAP A CAM WITHOUT REMOVING THE HEAD ON A 22RE'... ok? It really looks to have held, fine, and I'm praying it remains that way, regarding the head gasket.

Thanks, guys, ..... talk to you soon and I'll be sure to have some video!

Glad it's working out for you man, hope this takes care of your issues!

Don't forget, that 261 may have a little lope at idle...mine idles smooth, but it's a little more burbly now than it was with the good stock cam.

BTW, I mentioned earlier that I thought I'd had a drop in MPG with the 261...that seems to be erroneous. I'm back up to 24.1 highway, so no drop in economy.

Hope you like the new stick!

Well, Andy thinks, and I'm inclined to agree, that the Dizzy is causing some mild issues. It seems to be making a lil noise, nothing major, and I had no slop in it, really..... Still, the noise is a bit of a 'bearing' type sound, off and on. I guess "90% solved" isn't the proper terminology. lol. I definitely know one thing, it's WAY smoother and that "purrrrrrrrrrrrpupupuppurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr " crap that was bouncing me around in my seat? GONE, ... just some mild chunkyness that I can't really call a "MAJOR CONCERN" at this point, ya know? I do think that I have some issue causing me to have some pretty crappy mileage. I WILL get it... But for now, I'm going to try and get out of town.
