86 pickup. Switched to webber manual. Only 1 owner 87k miles OG.
I have an 86 pickup that a friend of.my dad's bought new. I wouldn't dream of telling toy what he took for it. It drive home but the carb was. A mess. I replaced with weber automatic choke. It would not start. So I ripped the automatic off and ran a manual choke(another theft deterrent). She's cold sometimes but I ain't never been late to work or anything. I currently have 107531 on her. But I've had the same issues since I've been driving it. She hates to shut off. Usually gotta use the clutch. And she's blowing oil put the valve cover filter.

Blowing oil from where?
With the oil filler cap off, mine will blow oil too! I left it off by accident one time...maybe two. Anyway, make sure the PCV valve is working, and the hose is not clogged. More than likely the PCV valve hose has seen its better days, especially if it's the original.

Make sure to use OEM PCV, not some generic, auto part store cheapie. It matters...

Go to Redline Weber and it has the years and the recommended carbs. I have run the 36 and now run the 38 (much better) and have run the electric choke on both with no issues on my '87 4x4 22R.
