84 22R with almost instant bogging, stalling out
I had been putting gas into my tank with gas cans about 1.5 months ago and I used some gas one day from a non diesel semi (everyone asks if it was diesel) that 2 miles down road caused engine to have one large back fire and 3 or 4 non gunshot volume backfires. I realized my spark plugs were and thought id replace those first. it ran great and I thought i had solved the issue but about 1.5 weeks later it had the same issue again and was getting worse. couldnt hardly get 1000 feet without major bogging/jerking like hydraulics on a low rider and always resulting in engine dying. so im on the 2nd brand new (in 1 months time cause bent other) mechanical pump and replaced fuel filter, hoses and used good clamps. it idled good and didnt stall sitting in neutral but 1 mile or so and did exact same thing it was.
*One side note, I did during this time leave oil cap off as I am dumb and spewed oil in engine compartment but not to the point it was covered everywhere, just thin layer here and there.
Back to issue, I did notice that the screen to the gas can I used had come off at some point and may have dumped 1-2 gallons w/o maybe 3 or 4 times in a month. Whatever was in the gas in that semi which I siphoned or however old it was caused the major turning point.
I did replace vacuum advance hose but does it take a specific size and type of hose.
Dont have phone, but this is the most similar setup to what I have only i have the bigger offy intake and a LC Engineering water block plate. thank you for any help! HERE is link to picture of similar set up
