4WD light stays on??
Snowed hard yesterday, then melted and light ice on the roads.Put it in four wheel drive to get home from the coffee shop for better traction and never went more than 15 mph, some of the pavement was dry in the three block drive. When I parked and shifted back to 2 Hi the light stays on for 4WD.What happened?

Put it in reverse and drive backwards for maybe 100 ft. If it stays on try getting your tires to spin on an icy patch to make sure you are actually in 2H. Just slightly step on the pedal. .

I don't think so, you failed to mention that first, but i forgot to ask. Even if you shift into 4H and DO NOT lock the hubs, you're still in 2H. I do not think it'll harm anything TCase related.

You don't have to be on a low traction surface. Just reverse, forward, reverse(as many times as necessary), while trying to shift the transfer case into 2H(since you aren't in 2H...until you hear/feel it shift out of 4H...and the 4WD light goes off). Having the hubs locked, or unlocked, while you're doing it doesn't matter.
