Does it stop immediately when you let go of the key, or run for a second or two and quit? If the latter, I would suspect a problem in the VAF/COR circuit.
You can start replacing parts willy-nilly (ignition switch cylinder? I assume DannySea means the switch itself; the cylinder is the part into which the key fits) and you might get lucky. Eventually. Or you can try to diagnose the problem.
I'd start with a multimeter on the ignition coil to see if you get 12v with the key "ON." If not, work back to the switch and check that. Don't have a multimeter? No excuse for that! http://www.harborfreight.com/7-funct...ter-98025.html

I'd still start with a multimeter to be sure you're getting power to the ignition coil; if no power there, you need to trace back to the switch.
Another possibility is a problem in the VAF-COR circuit, so that the fuel pump shuts off as soon as you switch from START back to ON. You can diagnose this by jumpering fp to b+ in the diagnostic connector. If it runs then, you've found your problem.
DO NOT LEAVE THE JUMPER IN as a long term solution. You may die a horrible, fiery, death.

A loose connection on the VAFM will do that to, bad connection or a bad VAFM.
When I replaced timing belt did not seat connector to VAFM (broken connector by me), it would start and then die. At least it was easy fix.
If flapper door does not move the fuel relay will not be active. Check manual, inspect and measure.
Try jumping for code reading, does it run. Do the fuel pump trip.
Bad ignition key was the problem on my Chev truck. It would start and die when I let the key go and reset.

Tested the VAFM all readings checked out with manual realized I got a whole parts vehicle at home the engine codes matched up changing out everything on that circuit if not fixed then on to the harnesses
